Update from our President - May 2020 Including Report from Board Meeting

Updated: Jul 31

On Thursday 28th May 2020 we had a successful Board Meeting with full attendance of all elected representatives from the Executive and Committee.  President Tim Schmidt chaired the meeting with Treasurer Daniel Cadart presenting a detailed financial report of the associations current standing.

Vice-President John Heard, Secretary Tim Crow, Committee Member Terry Memory and Operations Manager Andi Lucas were physically present at our meeting point in Campbell Town, with Committee Member Alex Keach connecting by phone from interstate. With a full agenda and limited time fitting in with everyone's busy schedules, we were wonderfully looked after by Michaela, Tanya and the staff at The Grange as their first guests with COVID restrictions lifting, and had a very productive meeting.

Several agenda items were ratified including the decision to add an additional Committee Member seat at the next AGM to ensure an odd number of Board Members for votes; clarifying standard operating procedures on matters like expenditure processes; determining the updated logo following the associations name change; and agreeing to make artwork available to our Corporate Members confirming they are members of the THA on their product packaging. The Board also made a decision and announcement that Andi Lucas will take on the recently vacated role of Executive Officer going forward.

Tim Schmidt reports that in his view, while the economic environment is tough, the attendees "...reflections that the industry is consolidating as far as markets and investment are concerned is a great sign for future growth". The THA have some very exciting announcements to share with our members and supporters over the next few months, with each of us working hard and increasingly efficiently with the shared vision of promoting and strengthening multiple aspects of our industry for the benefit of all stakeholders.
